सर्व स्वरूपे ........all is one

...Well!!!!!!!!!just felt like writing something about the differences in hinduism regarding the approach to the supreme being!!!!

HINDUISM is divided into 5 principle sects on the basis of the deity to which it pays particular homage...these sects are...vaishnavism(honouring vishnu),shaivism(honouring shiva),shaktism(honouring mother goddess shakti),ganapatyism(devoted to the animal god ganesha),and sauryism(honouring the solar deity)..................................since ancient times there have been competitions amongst these five sects to prove the respective deity better than the others,often these duels would lead to bloodshed and loss of lives...........

........ultimately Adi shankaraacharya took the initiative of combining these 5 schools of practice into what is called the "panchaayatana pooja",the combined worship of the five deities at a single altar,keeping the favourite deity at the centre and the other 4 flanking him/her...............

............So why are these different deities each independently claimed to be supreme??????

..Well, hinduism gives an individual the opportunity to mould the ultimate according to his own conceptions....let the supreme being be imagined as pure luminescence..light.and the minds of the faithful be like coloured glass....those holding a red glass will see the light of red colour,those with a blue glass shall find it blue,yet the light remains colourless all the time......................similarly it is according to the conception of the devotees that the supreme takes on various names , forms and attributes.....the one that transcends the barriers of names ,forms and rituals...is framed in elaborate philosophic caricatures that help the weak hearted to come a little closer to the ultimate!!!!!!!!!!!

Well why Navaratri??????why nine?????????

Shakti upasakas are accustomed to the Nava Aavarana worship of Sri Chakra(diagrammatic portrayal of Aadishakti Rajarajeshwari Durga),that is after passing through the 9 boundaries,u can reach the divine Mother who resides at the centre......similar is the case here.....after getting thru 9 obstacles of physical,mental,and spiritual realms can u reach the Mother...on the Vijaya Dashami(the day of victory/success)..................

Another explanation can be made here............Devi killed 9 powerful asuras.....Madhu,Kaitabha,Mahishasura,Dhoomralochana,Chanda,Munda,Raktaveeja,Nishumbha and Shumha.......these demons signify the demonic attributes of the human conscience.....these 9 nights are devoted to theritual sacrificing of these ill tendencies.....to achieve perfection on the 10th(vijaya dashami)......................

It takes 9 lunar months for the human foetus to develop..........the nine nights may also symbolise these nine months of gestation...when the worshipper is imagined to be under the refuge of the Mother,and obtaining all necessary things from her...except Devi ,he knows no one(just as the growing foetus is held,protected and nurtured by the mother)...on the tenth day the worshipper starts his life afresh...which like that of a baby is innocent and learning..through these nine days all his negative tendencies have been slaughtered at the lotus feet of Devi!!!

so let us all celebrate Navaratri and awaken the transcendent energy in ourselves........

Durga is Sundari Rajarajeshwari
...................................the empress of the cosmos..................................................

Unlike the goddess kaali (काली )who represents the dark gruesome aspect of durga(adiparashakti),devi sundari(सुंदरी )represents her benevolent facet!!!!!!!!

Shakti or the primal force is without any attribute ,she is formless,nameless,uncomprehendible.....so she is called durgeya(the unknowable) and durga (the inaccessible)!!!!!!!!

.......................for easy access,shakti hasbeen conceived either as the all absorbing entity(काली )or the ever producing and balancing entity (श्री )..........................

according to science......only when matter and energy are in harmony does the universe exist,matter when devoid of energy ceases to function......matter is like shiva ,after creation....devi durga parmeshwari unites with shiva as shri tripurasundari.........sitting above shiva lyk a throne......thus bringing matter and enrgy together for the functioning of the cosmos..........................

................................again when entropy begins to increase with total energy remaining constant(entropy can be considered the wrath of devi at the state of the world)....durga parameshwari abandons her husband,who then becomes lifeless....shakti becomes wild ,untamed and malevolent..and proceeds towards the dissolution of the cosmos...it is then she is called kaali...the dark night of dissolution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in whose hands are held a bunch of sweet smelling flowers,a bow,the noose and the goad,to that supreme mother,the one with beautiful feet............................I offer obeisance

WHO IS SHAKTI??????SO TO SAY,SHE IS NOT A MERE IDOL OF STRAW AND CLAY BUT THE MOTHER!!!!!!NEEDLESS TO SAY,VEDIC SEERS HAVE IMAGINED THIS GODDESS SHAKTHI BASED ON VARIOUS CONCEPTS..............
